Assignment 10

For this assignment I made a bivariate thematic map showing the population density of North Carolina counties with the actual count of African Americans on top as a proportional symbols map.

Map With Interesting Typeface

This is a map of Egypt from 1450 made in 1923. I think it has great examples of different uses of typeface to show information on the map. However, some lettering on this map is very dense and is illegible in some areas.

Map of National Parks

This map shows a the National parks here in the United States. It is a nice map to look at but much of the text is hard to read which makes it very impractical to be displayed on a small piece of paper.

Ndesign Studios is a great website to learn how to use many different tools in Adobe Illustrator. This will be important when we start making maps in that program.
